Recordings of Doukhobor folk songs on 78 rpm records have been restored and are now available on CD. The recordings were made in the 1940′s and 50′s. The Doukhobor Discovery Centre coordinated the project and enlisted the help of  Ron Mahonin, a Grand Forks music producer.

He went through each file “layer by layer, removing the noise, degree by degree. Much like how they restore old paintings – taking off layer by layer of dirt or old paint, until you get to the ‘raw stuff,’” said Mahonin.
